How Can We Treat Sleep Apnea?

iHeart Sleep utilizes non-CPAP technologies which are clinically proven to manage all anatomic aspects of OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea). We can treat all patients whether they have mild, moderate, or severe sleep apnea as well as patients who are CPAP resistant.

Causes of Apnea

What Causes Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)?

Many people think the main cause of sleep apnea is the tongue falling into the back of the throat, BUT this type of obstruction is responsible only some of the time. The other causes can be your soft palate (the boxing bag at the back of your throat) falling back, or the sidewalls of your throat collapsing in. In most cases sleep apnea is caused by a combination of these factors. For this reason, iHeart Sleep utilizes the only non-CPAP technologies that are clinically proven to manage all sites of collapse

How Sleep Apnea Devices Work

Oral Sleep Apnea Devices (OSAD) enable unobstructed air flow during sleep. Air naturally flows through the device to the patients back of the throat, bypassing common sites of obstruction such as the nose, tongue and soft palate. When obstruction occurs this is what is known to cause one to snore or stop breathing intermittently during sleep (aka Obstructive Sleep Apnea). Our OSAD devices help to advance and stabilize the lower jaw bringing forward the tongue slightly allowing your soft palate airway to open naturally while you sleep
